The Little Bears Nursery, founded in 2016, was opened to provide the highest level of childcare to ensure your children have the best possible start in life. We wanted to create a safe environment for your children where they can take part in exciting activities, interact with others and grow. Our trained staff understands that, in their early years, children learn faster and develop more rapidly than at any time of their lives that’s why we provide an educationally fun upbringing where children are valued as individuals and encouraged to develop their potential.

At the Little Bears we strive to deliver quality childcare for those aged 2-5. We understand that children of different ages require diverse levels of care and education in order to meet their development needs. This is why we offer 2 types of classes; our Squirrels class for children aged 2-3 years old and our Hedgehog class for those aged 3-5 years old. We believe that nurturing a child’s sense of belonging is vital to their emotional and social development. We offer a calm, warm, and welcoming setting in which they can grow and learn.

At the Little Bears, we believe that children are naturally curious, they possess an insatiable desire to explore. We also know that children learn best when they’re having fun, so we have created a secure and edifying atmosphere where learning, exploration, and anytime play are synonymous. We like to explore different methods of learning with children as we understand that learning can be achieved both formally and informally. We like to teach children how to cook, with the help of our chef Paula, to develop cognitive skills and abilities. Through cooking, children can learn to follow instructions, solve problems and make predictions and observations. Additionally, as part of our sustainability initiative, we have already begun growing fruit and vegetables, teaching our children about the importance of growing our own vegetables.

Exploration, play, and learning are at the heart of everything we do. We ensure a balance of adult-led, and child-initiated activities. Playtime is an opportunity for the children to explore, engage, and learn about the world around them. The children at Little Bears sing, read, paint, bake, find dinosaurs in the sandpit, help the adults tidy up, run around, and enjoy nature walks. Sometimes all in the same day! We give the children the opportunity to explore the environment surrounding us, that’s why we take the children on forest walks and teach them about the importance of nature and why we need to take care of it. At the Little Bears Nursery, the children’s days can range from learning through play to our weekly music and football lessons. We will always take the children’s interests into consideration, that’s why if they collectively show a keen interest in a particular topic, we will make these our subjects of the month and ensure we integrate a learning activity into it. We also comprehend that at the ages of 2-5 children it is vital for the children to take part in both learning activities and activities that can stimulate their physical development. Whilst taking part in outside play we encourage the children to climb in the playground, promoting balance and coordination, strength and hand-eye skills.
